A reflection on depression, love, loneliness and desire. A diary of thoughts in which I am not sure anymore about what is true and what is imagined. If no one is out there to talk to me, if no one is out there to help me, I will talk with myself.
A transference of pain, emotions and needs into a virtual vessel of a humanoid creature.
In the beginning of 2022, I found myself in a depressive phase, a reaction to living in a new home, a new country and a new environment. Simultaneously, I also felt disconnected from my partner living in Berlin who was also relapsing into a depressive episode and who was unable to communicate with me. In an effort to consolidate my conflicting and troubling emotions, I began working on „Metaverse can you eat me?“ which uses an avatar as a surrogate puppet. This character is fed my associative writing which explores themes of longing, sex, banality, pain and helplessness as an attempt to empty my thoughts and as an act of transference. Inspired by psycho analysis, „Metaverse can you eat me?“ creates an interplay between the reality of emotions, human experience and machines.
